You might be perusing this page for the first time, so I’d like to give you a few words on who I am and what I’m all about. Starting with heritage; I am of Italian and Lebanese decent. To be more specific, Northern Italian, and if you haven’t heard of Lebanese, it means you are from Lebanon… in the Middle East. Maybe you have heard of Beirut? Gorgeous scenery and the freshest foods. What do these cultures meshed together create? A big personality and a vast palette.
Apps, entrees, desserts, are all a huge part of my upbringing. We’ve dedicated a wild amount of time to food. Anytime I get together with friends, food is a huge conversation. Thinking back about it, I’ve always had a tray or huge spread of food for everyone. My family did it, so I thought that was expected. There were countless times the “it” factor was in the presentation, but I didn’t see it. Through my event jobs, that part of me developed more and more. I was exposed to a world outside of my own to get inspiration and let the creativity fly.
Fast forward to 2020. Taboo, I know. Like others, this was a year of self reflection, or “what am I doing?” The key was to find a name to develop this idea. I actually did not come up with the name myself, family did. It was not my first choice either! After two months thinking about it and how it would drastically change my life and last 7 years at an amazing job, I decide to take the plunge. Quitting your job in a pandemic is insane, but somehow it worked out. I was extremely anxious for about 3 weeks then started to appreciate this chapter; 30. Cue the birth of Chuckuterie.
So what do I do? The majority of my college and work experience is in catering, so my talents are steered in that direction. As you’ll see I have options for occasions like a day at the park, dinner with friends, game/movie nights to bachelor parties, showers, weddings and corporate functions. These boards or displays can honestly be a part of any event. They will always be a topic of conversation and interest guests. The customization is probably my favorite part. Just because you bought one, doesn’t mean you have the same thing the second, third, fourth time. After all, it’s not all meat and cheese. A board can be a classic take (primarily meats), incorporating more cheese, focus on a color palette, sweets, cultural foods, junk food, you name it.
